We need to prepare before we go. Every student going on mission is required to attend at least 2 of the 3 pre-trip trainings below and strongly encouraged to attend the post-trip meeting as well.
Session 1 – TBD
We need to start out by framing our minds and hearts for the trip. Too many people sign up and go on a trip without ever thinking about what they want to get out of it. For most, it clicks towards the end of the trip and it’s often too late to do anything about it then. We’ll walk through what our students are expecting out of their trip, the purpose of the trip (both during that week and when they get back) and help them make some measurable goals for what they want to accomplish.
Session 2 – TBD
Before we go share the gospel, we need to know how. We’ll train our students in how to share their faith. This includes learning how to share their personal testimony, how to start a gospel conversation, how to explain the gospel and memorizing key verses of scripture. This training will be helpful not only while on the trip, but here at home as well.
Session 3 – Make-up Session
This session will be for any students who were unable to make 1 of the first two session or need additional time to prepare.
Post-Trip Meeting – TBD
Too often we do a mission trip and then simply go about our business when we get home. We want that to change. As summer comes to an end, we’ll gather back together to celebrate what God has done and spur one another on to continue Living Sent throughout the upcoming school year. This last meeting is obviously optional in terms of going on the trip, but highly beneficial.
